We work within the framework of
Whole Community Catechesis
or
Lifelong Faith Formation.
The General Directory for Catechesis (GDC) put out by the Holy See in 1997 states very clearly that “catechesis for adults..., must be considered the chief form of catechesis .....” .(#20)
In addition, Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us, a statement of the U.S. Catholic Bishops, states “Adult faith formation, by which people consciously grow in the life of Christ through experience, reflection, prayer, and study, must be ‘the central task in (this) catechetical enterprise,’ becoming ‘ the axis around which revolves the catechesis of childhood and adolescence as well as that of old age.’ ”(#5)
The same document goes on to say in (#6) “To make this vision a reality, we, as the Catholic bishops of the United States, call the church in our country to a renewed commitment to adult faith formation, positioning it at the heart of our catechetical vision and practice.”
ADULTS
Conversion to Jesus Christ or discipleship is a life long journey. To encourage and support this journey, effective faith formation should be wholistic (form the whole person). Such formation encompasses four areas (pillars): the intellectual as well as the spiritual, the human and the pastoral ("Co-Workers in the Vineyard," USCCB). Our programs for adults include lectures, faith-sharing opportunities within the context of Small Christian Communities, Advent and Lenten series, pilgrimages and retreats, scripture studies, family-centered catechesis and the sacred arts; to name a few.

THEOLOGY ON TAP
Theology on Tap is an opportunity for a parish to gather young adults aged 20 yr-40 yr old for conversation, theology, and refreshments. The group meets (locally determined by the group) on a regular basis to discuss various issues that are affecting Christians in today’s society. The group is open to singles and married individuals who would like to come together to grow in their faith, to share friendships and experiences. Please call us if you would like to help get this program started.
ReMEMBERING CHURCH
ReMembering Church is for those who have drifted away or left the Catholic Church for one reason or another and are thinking about coming back. It offers the opportunity for dialogue, healing, and/or forgiveness. Whatever the reason for your absence, our faith community would like to be given the opportunity to welcome you back.
Becoming Catholic through RCIA
For those who would like to become Catholic, the Church offers a program centered on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). RCIA is for those not baptized who would like to be baptized into the Catholic faith; those who were baptized in another faith tradition and would like to become Catholic; or were baptized Catholic but are not catechized and need to complete their Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and/or Holy Eucharist). It is also for those who are simply curious about the Catholic faith and wish to learn about it for the first time.
